Have you ever been so busy you just sit there not knowing where to start?  School started about a month ago, we are trying to move very soon, we are trying to complete adoption paperwork and raise enough funds to hopefully complete our home study in the next month or so.  I’m not saying any of this to complain. In fact, the chaos is evidence of God’s goodness.  All things in His timing.

Our short time in the adoption process has been busy and slow, exciting and scary, doubtful and trusting, confusing and rewarding.  Quite the paradoxical experience, and we’re only about 6 weeks in.

God has already blessed us with so many supportive people in our lives.  Of course, our family is already very encouraging and prayerful.  Beau and I are also blessed to have multiple church friends who are quite familiar with the adoption process and have been great resources and support systems.  The really cool thing about adoption is how quickly this “adoption community” begins to form.

Beau and I have already met some new friends (I know that sounds like we’re in kindergarten) to go through this process with.  Recently, I was connected with a super sweet couple who are the same ages as me and Beau, who are also adopting from Haiti with the same adoption agency!  The amazing thing is that we actually knew each other years ago because we played on opposing basketball teams in high school.  They even have the same last name as us! How weird, right!? It’s amazing how God works even in the funny little “coincidences” of our lives.

I’m not going to lie, I have been a little discouraged sometimes about a couple of things here and there, but there is no doubt in my mind, we are following the Holy Spirit’s lead.  It’s a special thing to be able to pray and work so fervently for something God has placed on our hearts.  I know we won’t have a child for a few years, but praying for our child, who may not even be born yet, and his/her birth mother has been a surreal experience.  I’m still so humbled to have been called to this ministry.

Thank you all so much for your prayers!  Some people have asked me what’s the best way they can donate/support us.  Of course, we are SO SO appreciative of those who feel led to help financially support this mission.  We have a Venmo account that is super easy to use:  https://venmo.com/Sarah-Cooper-62. If that doesn’t work for you, we also have a mailing address I’ll be glad to share with you if needed. 🙂 Of course, the most important thing you could do to support us is always prayer!  It truly means so much when someone lets me know they’re praying for us!  What a blessing a community of believers is.  God is good!
